Keep your conversations to a whisper and bring quiet activities and headphones for little ones who may not be as interested in the film as you are. But having full-on conversations, letting kids run wild or watching a YouTube video without headphones during the film is disruptive to other guests. If you're in your car with the windows up or whispering so as not to disturb your neighbors, that's fine. ![]() Keep in mind that it's still a movie theater, even if it doesn't seem like it. Since drive-in movie theaters are outdoors, it may seem OK to carry on a conversation or allow children to chat throughout the movie. ![]() Before you head to the drive-in, practice turning them off as most cars have a way of doing this. If you have a fairly new car, as early as 2013, you probably have daytime running lights that run whenever the car is in the "on" position. Don't have rope? Some drive-in theaters have attendants who walk around looking for hatchback doors that may be blocking other movie goers and will gladly give you a piece of rope.ĭaytime running lights: Drive-in staff will suggest you put your car in the accessory position while watching the film so only your radio and interior lights work. Just tie your hatchback door low enough that it's even with the top of your car. However, when open, hatchback doors often go a tad higher than the top of your vehicle, possibly blocking those behind you. Most, if not all, drive-ins have a row rule designating where certain cars can and can't park. But, if you have a larger vehicle, typically larger than the average four-door sedan, it's best to park toward the back so as not to block those in smaller vehicles. If you have a smaller vehicle, you could theoretically park wherever you'd like. Parking: Where you should park at a drive-in depends on the type of vehicle you own.
